PURPOSE: To discriminate the attribute of an animal body stably and with high accuracy without being affected by a recording condition by a method wherein a time-series pressure-distribution value and a shape feature are extracted from a foot-pressure distribution which has been taken into.
CONSTITUTION: When a shoe 1 is passed on a pressure sensor part 2, the sensor part 2 obtains an inherent pressure two-dimensional distribution pattern, and a superposed- image creation part 4 creates the superposed image of the pressure distribution pattern in every time. In a position normalization part 5, the position of every frame in a time-series pressure distribution image is normalized by using the superposed image. Then, a dictionary-data storage part 8 stores a time-series foot-pressure image which has been processed after the position has been normalized. In order to compute the distance between a test pattern and diactionary data at a time when an attribute is discriminated, a time normalization part 9 normalizes the length of the time of both, i.e., the number of frames in this case. In a discrimination processing part 10, the test pattern to which a normalization processing operation has been performed is compared with data in the storage part 8, and the dictionary data which is most similar to the test pattern is selected. In addition, the feature vector of the dictionary data whose distance is smallest is selected.
