Abstract:

To enable to sufficiently disinfect a contact lens.

An apparatus for disinfecting the contact lens includes: a processing tank 35 for storing a first medium and provided with a vibration transmitting part on the bottom part; a lens case 11 arranged so as to attachable/detachable to the processing tank 35 and to be able to place on the vibration transmitting part, and for storing the contact lens 13 and a second medium; an ultrasonic wave vibrator 22 for generating an ultrasonic vibration and transmitting it to the vibration transmitting part; and an ultrasonic wave vibrator driving and processing means for driving the ultrasonic wave vibrator 22 and forming hydroxyl radicals in the second medium. As the ultrasonic wave vibrator 22 is driven and the hydroxyl radicals are formed in the second medium, it is possible to sufficiently disinfect the contact lens 13. As the contact lens 13 can be disinfected in an extremely short time and after the disinfection is finished, it is unnecessary to neutralize the processed liquid to thereby simplify the work for disinfection.
