Abstract:

To provide a dissolving apparatus capable of performing an efficient heating and agitating of either silicon or silicon base alloy.

There is provided a dissolving apparatus 1 for a silicon or the like comprised of a crucible 2 for storing raw material 5 for silicon or silicon base alloy, and made of quartz hardly reacted with silicon and having a high thermal conductivity; a cylindrical heating member 6 arranged along an outside of the crucible 2, and made of carbon facilitating an induction heating with a magnetic field; and a high-frequency coil 9 arranged outside the heating member 6 through a heat-resistant insulating layer 7.
