To provide an apparatus for dissolving and treating a foamed resin which dissolves a solid foamed resin (foamed styrol) used in packaging materials, heat insulating/cushioning materials of various products and the like, recovers the solution, and recycles the foamed resin.
This is an apparatus for dissolving and treating a foamed resin, wherein a dissolution liq. 1 is placed in a tank 4 having an vertically openable lid 6 and a foamed resin 3 is introduced into the tank 4 to dissolve the resin. A pushing member 7, which is interlocked with the lid 6, is vertically openably installed within the tank 4. As soon as the lid 6 is manually opened, the pushing member 7 is erected from the dissolving liq. 1, followed by introduction of the foamed resin 3. As soon as the lid 6 is closed, the pushing member 7 is rotated and descends until it reaches the dissolving liq. 1. The pushing member 7 forcibly pushes and lowers the foamed resin 3 into the dissolving liq. 1 to efficiently dissolve the foamed resin 3. A manual agitator 20 for agitating the dissolving liq. 1 to enhance the dissolution efficiency is installed within the dissolving liq. 1, and a level gauge 30 serving also as a specific gravity meter is installed in the tank 4.
