To substantially increase the amount produced per time (productivity) and surely take out and join the fibers at a large production rate, the downstream of the supply means, there are arranged at least one roller having devices for a rotated and conveyed fiber bundle and rotatably mounted. The clamping devices are distributed spaced apart around the periphery of the roller, and a means for producing a combing action is combined with the roller, wherein after take up of the free regions of the combed fiber bundles by the revolving means, the clamping of the ends of the combed fiber bundles is terminated.
