PURPOSE: To permit an accurate and rapid filling of a capsule in a container without impairment by providing a feed drum having a predetermined number of capsule receiving pockets on its peripheral surface and a filling roller for filling a capsule in a preset container.
CONSTITUTION: Upon passing by a service hopper 31, a plurality of capsules receiving pockets 11 provided on the peripheral surface of a feed drum 10 are reduced in pressure through an air flow passage 12 and a sucking opening 13, whereby capsules 4 in the hopper 31 are inserted into the pockets 11. When the rotation of the feed drum 10 brings each capsule receiving pocket 11 down to its lowermost position, a gas is blown thereinto through an exhaust port 14 and the air flow passage 12, thereby transferring the capsule 4 into the capsule receiving pockets 22 of a filling roller 20. Each capsule receiving pocket 22 is passed through the detection zone of a capsule disengagement sensor 61 for sensing of the capsule reception thereby. When the rotation of the filling roller 20 brings the capsule receiving pocket 22 down its lower most position, the capsules 4 are separately dropped down a chute 50 so as to be filled in each container 3 placed below said chute.
