Title:
APPARATUS FOR FIRING CERAMIC CORES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP01126277
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the flow of good turbulent gases over the entire surface area of a core, by combining side walls, end walls, gas inlet and outlet, manifold, first pipe and second pipe so as to provide specific effects.

CONSTITUTION: The gas, such as dry hydrogen, is passed from a gas feed source 34 through the inlet pipe 32 to the manifold 36 while the core is fired. Part of the gas is admitted by the manifold 36 into the hole 14 of a setter 10 through the first distribution pipe 38. The balance of the gas from the feed source 34 is divided by the manifold 36 and nearly the equal amts. flow to the second, third and fourth distribution pipes 40, 42 and 46. These gases pass the many holes 44, 48 of the pipes and gush toward the core to be fired which is supported on the apex 12 of the setter and on the setter from the inside of the pipes. The other end of the hole 14 of the setter 10 opens into a furnace or retort 54. The gases flowing in the hole of the setter from the first distribution pipe 38 act as an aspirator to the gases ejected into the closed retort 54 by the pipes 40, 42 and 46.
