To provide an apparatus for forming cover of a metallic can which enables forming a counter sink section without transforming the shoulder section of the metallic can cover or without damaging fillet of the counter sink, even if the width of a groove of the counter sink section is narrow and deep so as to heighten the buckling resistance, and allows taking out the cover of a metallic can smoothly from the apparatus after forming.
In the forming apparatus of the cover of a metallic can equipped with a plurality of molding members formed between a panel section and a chuck wall section 42 by pressing the panel section to the upper surface side of the metallic can cover without tucking a molding member into the groove of the counter sink section 44, from the conditions that the chuck wall section and a flange curl section 43 are formed in the periphery of the flat panel section 41, a molding member to support fixedly the flange curl section against pressing the panel section when forming the counter sink section is provided as a separate molding member against a trumpet shaped shoulder part 43a and a top surface part 43b which are inner edges section of the flange curl section, provided a member 16 to support the shoulder part fixedly, and a member 18 to support the top surface part movably.
