To provide an apparatus for heat-cracking and steam-gas-reforming of organic waste, by which a clean useful gas free from a harmful gas can be obtained, which has large energy efficiency and good operability, and which is safe and highly economical.
An apparatus for gasifying an organic waste is constituted as follows. A plurality of small cylinders for partitioning a horizontal rotary cylinder 2 into a space (thermally cracking space 5) at the insertion side of a raw material and a space (a discharging side space 6) at the discharge side of a product in gas- and solid-shapes is installed in the rotary cylinder 2. The small cylinders are helical cylinders 4 having the interiors formed out of helical plates, and the helical cylinders 4 are regulated so that the advancing directions of solids in the helical cylinders according to the rotation of the horizontal rotary cylinder 2 may be the same or mutually inverse. The apparatus has a steam-sending pipe 9 passed from the outside through one of the insertion side terminal of the raw material and the other side terminal to the thermally cracking space 5 by allowing the steam to be indirectly heated in the interior of the horizontally rotary cylinder, and heating means for supplying heat from the outside of the horizontal rotary cylinder 2 through the side wall of the cylinder to the inside of the cylinder.
