The inserting apparatus comprises a bag carrying conveyor and a container feed conveyor, and the bags are inserted in the container by the action of the gravity at an inserting position above the feed conveyor. In order to further increase the carrying speed of the apparatus, the bag conveyor is provided with a star-shaped conveyor, the star-shaped conveyor is rotatable around a substantially horizontal shaft, and provided with a reception compartment, the reception compartment enables the loading and the carry-out on the circumference of the star-shaped conveyor, only one bag is received in the carrying direction of the star-shaped conveyor, and the carrying direction of the star-shaped conveyor is same as that of the feed conveyor above the feed conveyor at the inserting position.
