PURPOSE: To auto mate jointing of a bumper face and a bumper beam and to improve productive efficiency, by forming the bumper beam with a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin, forming a bumper face with a thermoplastic resin and jointing efficiently and continuously both members.
CONSTITUTION: A bumper face 54 is placed on a receiving jig 14, clamped by means of clamp nails 13 and 16 positioned at a heat-melting position by moving an upper 6 of a jig stage backward. A heater 22 is lowered by driving a cylinder 18 and jointing faces c and d are heat-melted by means of heating devices 22b and 22b. A carrying stage 28 is retreated by driving a cylinder 23 while a bumper beam 53 is thereon placed. Fused jointing faces (a) and (b) are brought between heating devices 42a and 42b by elevating a jig 29 to heat-fuse the faces (a) and (b). Then, the fixing jig 29 for the bumper beam 53 is lowered to bring the bumper beam 53 between the bumper face 54. Both jointing faces (a) and (c) and (b) and (d) are brought into contact with each other and the bumper beam 53 and the bumper face 54 are fused and jointed.
