Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for judging the failure of a start clutch which can specify the failure of a control valve for controlling the engaging force of the start clutch and can improve the maintainability of the start clutch.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for judging the failure of a start clutch (SC) electromagnetic valve 33b for controlling the engaging force of the hydraulically controlled start clutch 30 provided between a belt type stepless transmission 20 and a drive wheel 7 is provided with an ECU 2. The ECU 2 judges that the SC electromagnetic valve 33b is engaged in the completely closed state (at Steps 32, 42, 43) when throttle opening TH≥THRUN, clutch target pressure PCCMD≥PCRUNNG, NDN>NDNREF, AND vehicle speed VP<VRUNNG (YES at Steps 23, 25 to 27).
