Abstract:
PURPOSE:To inform the hue of a painting color by comparing the reference color data read from a reference color memory corresponding to the change-over of the painting color to a running body with the hue data calculated from the spectral data from a spectroscope by a hue operation means. CONSTITUTION:A strip 1 is painted with a desired color in a coater 2 and heated in an oven 3 to be supplied to the lower part of a luminous spectroscope 5 through a pridle roll 4. Next, the spectral distribution data calculated by the spectroscope 5 is sent to a hue operation apparatus 20 which in turn compares the reference color data read from a reference color memory 35 with the color difference calculated from the spectral data from the spectroscope 5 to display the hue of the painting color of the strip 1. Therefore, even when the painting color of the strip 1 is changed over, color difference can be calculated continuously and automatically. At this time, an unpainted part can be also certainly discriminated.
