Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for measuring the shearing strength of a surface layer of 5 mm or smaller from the surface of viscous ground, and to provide its measuring method.
SOLUTION: The surface layer shearing strength measuring apparatus 1 is constituted provided with an apparatus body 6, provided with a screw jack 3 for pulling a loading plate 2 in the horizontal direction, a load cell 4 for measuring shearing forces, and a displacement meter 5 for measuring shearing displacements; a connecting frame 13 connected to a shaft body 7 of the apparatus body 6; and the loading plate 2 connected to the connecting frame 13. A large number of plate-like shearing blades 22 are arranged in the lower surface of the loading plate 2 at intervals, and the shearing blades 22 are provided, in such directions that their longitudinal directions intersect with the pulling direction of the loading plate 2 and their tips are protruded downward from the loading plate.
