To provide an apparatus for measuring surface roughness of a cylindrical object capable of efficiently measuring the surface roughness of a plurality of cylindrical objects.
After a plurality of cylindrical objects (workpieces) 11 to be measured are pinched by two tool counterparts 13 in tight contact with each other and intermediate members 14 including a protrusion 14c having a tapered surface 14b are mounted at both ends, a circular flat-plate-shaped coupling member 16 including a tapered opening 16b is fitted with the protrusion 14c to have the two counterparts 13 integrated. In measuring, after a workpiece holding tool 12 holding a plurality of workpieces 11 is fixedly located on a tool seat 17, a tip of a gauge head 21a is brought into contact with an inner peripheral surface of the workpiece 11 through the opening 16b of the coupling member 16, and the gauge head 21a is moved back and forth in the thickness direction of the workpiece 11 to measure the surface roughness on the inner peripheral surface of the workpiece 11. This constitution enables successive measuring of the plurality of workpieces 11 by a single measuring operation, thereby improving measuring efficiency.
