The apparatus is provided with a measuring means 3 having a probe contact measuring device, and a moving means for moving the probe contact measuring device of the measuring means 3 in an X-axis and a Y-axis directions. In this case, the X-axis and Y-axis are orthogonal in a plan view of an optional golf ball dimple to be measured, and a X-axis is orthogonal to an X-Y plane in a section of the golf ball dimple. The probe touch-type measuring device measures an X coordinate value and a Z coordinate value. A computing means 4 obtains a sectional area for every one measurement pitch in the X-axis direction from the X coordinate value and Z coordinate value measured by the measuring means 3. The computing means 4 multiplies the sectional area by the amount of one measurement pitch in the Y-axis direction, thereby computing a volume of each small block divided by an X direction and a Y direction rows and computing a volume of the golf ball dimple from the volume of each small block.
