To uniformly and quickly cool molten metal by rotating the whole mold while dipping the outside of a mold into cooling liquid.
A metal to be melted is laid in a crucible 20, and when high frequency current is supplied into each of coils 22, 24, the metal is heated and melted to become the molten metal 26. The molten metal 26 becomes in the state separated from the inner wall of the crucible 20 with an alternating field and the current flowing in itself. Therefore, the high purity molten metal 26 is obtained because the foreign matter, etc., generated by dissolving the constituting material of the crucible 20 are hardly mixed. In a water vessel 27, cooling water 32 is poured and the outer wall of the mold 21 is cooled to quickly cool the molten metal 26 in the mold 21. The mold 21 is rotated with a motor M in the water vessel 27 through a rotating shaft 37 and bevel gear 36, etc. By this way, the molten metal 26 poured into the inner part thereof is stirred by receiving centrifugal force and also, held on tight on the inner wall surface of the mold 21 to uniformly and quickly cool the molten metal 26.
