To provide a data arrangement altering apparatus the configuration and the procedure of which is more simplified, and also to provide a reception apparatus, a transmission apparatus, and a data arrangement revising method.

Figure 4 indicates a configuration of a time de-interleaver 13 for the reception apparatus employing the ISDB-T system. The reception apparatus receives symbol data comprising 96 sets of carrier data in the order of carrier numbers and the data are written one by one data each to a storage section 131 acting like a ring buffer. Further, data of the same carrier number as that of the written data are read one by one each from the storage section 131. A counter section 1321 gives a carrier number of received carrier data Din to an address arithmetic section 1323. The address arithmetic section 1323 writes the received carrier data Din to a preceding read address and reads carrier data Dout from an address shifted from the written address by an address width in response to the carrier number.
