This apparatus for controlling door drive includes a power converter 14 which supplies power to a linear motor 2 for driving the door 1, and drives the power converter 14 by feed-back control based on a speed detection value and speed command value of the door 1 to control the speed of the door 1. This apparatus also includes a door speed abnormality determination device 15 which outputs a door reserve direction speed abnormality signal "a" when the speed command value of the door 1 exceeds the positive or negative first set speed and when the speed detection value exceeds the second set speed of polarity opposite to that of the speed command value.
