Title:
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING QUANTITY OF COOLANT INJECTED INTO COMBUSTORS OF GAS TURBINE POWER PLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3415658
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus and a method for automatically controlling the quantity of coolant injected into combustors of a gas turbine power plant so as to reduce NOx emissions.
CONSTITUTION: A gas turbine power plant has coolant injected into combustors 110, 110' in order to reduce the level of nitrogen oxide produced by the combustion of natural gas fuel and/or oil. A control system 124 controls injection of coolant into the combustors in order to reduce NOx emissions, while improving turbine cycle efficiency and avoiding the possibility of over-injection of coolant to the point of flame-out in the combustor. PID controllers 126 are used to provide percentage error bias in the control system, whereby adjustment of coolant injection follows turbine load in a manner that increases turbine efficiency.
