Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for highly accurately detecting the presence or absence of a section of water leakage of an impervious sheet even in the case that a current passed through a reference electrode arranged outside the impervious sheet leaks from parts except the section of water leakage of the impervious sheet.
SOLUTION: The water leakage detecting apparatus includes a plurality of detecting electrodes 9 arranged at upper parts of the impervious sheet 5 laid on an impervious part 2; the first reference electrode 10 arranged on the ground 1 outside the impervious part 2; a second reference electrode 11 arranged at an upper part of the impervious sheet 5; a constant current electric power supply 12 for supplying a current for the electrode 10 and the electrode 11; and a current measuring means 13 for measuring a current passed through the detecting electrodes 9. The current is independently supplied for the electrode 10 and the electrode 11, and the current passed through the plurality of detecting electrodes 9 are measured to acquire each current distribution. By comparing the distribution shape of the current distribution acquired in the case of supplying the current for the electrode 10 with the distribution shape of the current distribution acquired in the case of supplying the current for the electrode 11, the presence or absence of water leakage is determined.
