To provide method which enables rapid and inexpensive disassembling of waste cathode ray tube without crushing it to separate inner parts.
Thermal shock is applied to jointing portions of a face part 11 of a waste cathode ray tube 1 and an intermediate part 13 by contacting heating lines 21, 22 being generated of heat with these portions, thereafter gas is injected to the jointing portions for cooling to separate the waste cathode ray tube 1 from the jointing portions. Tension applying mechanism 4, 5 apply tension force to the heating lines 21, 22 using an elasticity of a spring and air pressure, while the elongation of the heating lines 21, 22 in heating is absorbed by an elongation absorbing part 431, 531 so that heating lines 21, 22 can sufficiently contact to the waste cathode ray tube 1.
