In a weaving machine having a leasing rod that is arranged at the upstream of a heddle frame group and extended in a weaving width direction, the weaving machine is equipped with the driving apparatus to displace the leasing rod in the direction crossing the warp and the driving gear is changed from a first drive state that the leasing rod is displaced so as to make the path length of either an upper warp or a lower warp in beating up longer than that of the other to a second drive state that the leasing rod is displaced so as to alleviate the variation of the path length of the warp following the opening movement.
