Abstract:
To execute noise reducing processing within appropriate parameters even when there is change in type of a scope, change with the passage of time, or change in environment in an endoscope image processing apparatus.
An endoscope image P0 obtained by actually taking a shot of a subject by an endoscope is divided into several regions and an image variance value (s+n)2 of pixel values is calculated for each region. After that, a noise variance value n2 indicating characteristics of noise contents of the endoscope image P0 is estimated from the image variance value (s+n)2. The endoscope image P0 is subjected to noise reducing processing by using a wiener filter by using the noise variance value n2.
