Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for increasing a transfer amount per hour by reducing contention among stations in infrastructure-based radio communications.
SOLUTION: A direct link protocol (DLP) station comprises a channel-switching module for switching a channel by writing a new channel number in a DLP request frame, a mode-switching module for switching a DLP mode by writing a new mode number in the DLP request frame, and a MAC frame-generating module for generating various MAC frames each including the DLP request frame. The method for enhancing a transfer rate using a DLP and multiple channels is composed of a step 1 of carrying out an improved 4-handshake process, and a step 2 of executing the relevant mode using the DLP channel mode and the channel number which are determined in the process.
