Abstract:
To provide an apparatus for generating hydrogen which can rapidly perform the startup of a reaction without using a heating means by supplying a latent heat with a simple apparatus constitution when starting the reaction; and a method for generating hydrogen.
The apparatus for generating hydrogen is equipped with a reaction part 2 for generating hydrogen by an exothermic reaction and a heat storage part 1 performing heat exchange with the reaction part 2. In the heat storage part 1, a heat storage material 1a being a supercooled liquid at a temperature at which the reaction is started and a starting means 1b capable of giving a physical stimulation to the heat storage material 1a are provided.
