Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for correcting at relatively low costs a positional dot shift caused by an error in feed amount of a head by a stepping motor. SOLUTION: A carriage 11 loaded with a recording head 12, an ink cartridge 15, etc., moves in a main scan direction (X direction) along a main scan shaft 14. During the movement, ink drops are jetted from the recording head 12 thereby recording a recording paper 10. A distance (d) between a nozzle face 13 of the recording head 12 and a record face of the recording medium 10 continuously decreases between a main scan start end and a main scan terminal end of the recording head 12. A positional dot shift caused by an error in feed amount of the head is corrected by an amount of the decrease.
