Abstract:
To provide a portable network access point apparatus capable of accessing a network drive mapped via a FireWire(1394) or a USB.
The apparatus includes all functions required for accessing a network and shared network drive. The hardware of the apparatus includes an Ethernet at one end and the USB or the FireWire at the other end. When connected to a network, the apparatus tries to access all shared network drives wherein the apparatus is programmed. When the apparatus is connected to a computer via the USB/FireWire, the computer loads a driver and maps listed drives. The computer needs not to load the entire network stacks to access the drives.
