Abstract:

To provide a pressing method and a pressing apparatus capable of forming a negative angle folding part with high accuracy by regulating the negative angle folding part from inner and outer sides when forming the negative angle folding part on a peripheral edge of an opening in a bottomed cylindrical work, and reducing the cost, the working time and the equipment cost.

The pressing apparatus of a metallic container to form a negative angle folding part 17 on a peripheral edge 8a of an opening in a bottomed cylindrical work 8 comprises an outer die 5 which regulates the peripheral edge 8a of the opening from the periphery and bends it inwardly, and an inner die 3 having a stepped part 13 which is inserted in the work 8 to regulate the peripheral edge 8a of the opening from the inner side. After the negative angle folding part 17 is formed in cooperation with the outer die 5 with the stepped part 13 of the inner die 3, the outer die 5 and the stepped part 13 of the inner die 3 are relatively moved in the axial direction to form a space 18 in the outer periphery of the negative angle folding part 17, and the negative angle folding part 17 overrides the stepped part 13 and separated from the inner die 3.
