To provide an image processing apparatus which can perform more natural horizontal magnification processing without giving influence on circuit scale and without cost increase, and to provide electronic equipment, and an image processing method.
The image processing apparatus includes: a storing part for storing first image data having a first aspect ratio; a shift control part for dividing a display screen to display the first image data into a plurality of regions on the display screen having a second aspect ratio, and outputting magnification coordinates indicating an interpolation processing method for obtaining interpolated pixels of adjacent pixels of the first image data which are selected from a first enlargement ratio as an enlargement ratio magnifying the first image data into variable magnification and a second enlargement ratio as an enlargement ratio magnifying the first image data into fixed magnification on the basis of each region, and an image processing part for reading and magnifying the first image data stored in the storing part to output second image data on the basis of the magnification coordinates indicating the interpolation processing method for obtaining each interpolated pixel from the shift control part.
