To provide an apparatus for producing Japanese crackers made up of a female mold with an electric heater built in and a vertically movable male mold and having such a mechanism that the female mold can be switched between three positions, i.e., a raw material feed position, a baking position and a product pickup position, the female mold receives a given quantity of a raw material at the 1st position from a raw material feeder, the male mold is made to descend at the 2nd position to heat under pressure the raw material to effect baking the raw material, and the thus baked product is sucked and held by a sucking pad at the 3rd position by the aid of air suction and then raised, and having such a design that an air cylinder setting space for switching the female mold between the three positions is made smaller and the structures of air cylinders and a control unit are simplified.

This apparatus for producing Japanese crackers has, in part, the following mechanism: a movable plate 3 is advanced/retreated on a stationary rail 2 by the aid of one of the air cylinders 4, a sliding plate 7 equipped with the female mold 8 is advanced/retreated on the mobile plate 3 by the aid of the other air cylinder 9 supported on the mobile plate 3 to enable the female mold 8 to be switched between the three positions by the aid of the air cylinders 4 and 9 which are superposedly arranged vertically.
