To allow pellet sensible heat which is generated in a reduced iron pellet producing process in a rotary hearth type reducing furnace and wasted as it is not used, to be effectively used in a drying process for raw material pellet.
An apparatus for producing the reduced iron pellet includes; a dryer for drying the raw material pellet with hot-air; a reducing tool for reducing the pellet after drying with the rotary hearth type reducing furnace; a cooler for recovering the sensible heat of hot pellet of the reduced iron as the sensible heat of cooling water for rotary cooler; a hot-air generator for generating the hot-air in the drying process by recovering the sensible heat of the cooling water; a cooling water circulating path through which the temperature-risen cooling water is transferred to the hot-air generator to circulate the cooling water which is lowered in the temperature to a plurality of spray-nozzles; and a hot-air conveying path for conveying the produced hot-air into the dryer. The cooler is provided with the plurality of spray-nozzles and a cooling water recovering vessel, and the hot-air generator is provided with a chemical heat-pump for recovering the sensible heat of the cooling water and a heat-exchanger for turning the air to the hot-air by heat-exchange using a recovered sensible heat.
