The apparatus 1 for removal of defective cover includes: a transportation means 2 for transporting can covers 10 one by one at a prescribed interval while downward rotating the covers 10; a defective cover detection means for detecting whether the can covers 10 are defective covers 11 or not during the transportation; a removal means 4 installed below the transportation means 2 for removing the defective covers 11 one by one, which are detected by the defective cover detection means; and a control means for controlling the transportation means 2, the defective cover detection means, and the removal means 4.
