PURPOSE: To obtain a smoke-free convenient apparatus which enables the roasting and boiling of food with a screen formed at a notch of a part of a lid by arranging a metal box, a lid and a base extractable out of and retractable into the box to burn a briquet-shaped fixed fuel comprising a charcoal powder and an inorganic binder put on the screen set on the base.

CONSTITUTION: A metal box 1, a lid 2 and a non-combustible base 3 extractable out of and retractable into the box 1 and a metal screen 4 set on the base are arranged to form a combustion device. An intake port 12 of air for combustion is provided at the central part of a side wall of the box 1. The height of the box 1 is so set to allow the housing of the base 3, the screen 4 and a fixed fuel 5 on the bottom 13 of the box 1 being piled vertically. The lid 2 of the box 1 is cut at the central part thereof to be lived with the screen 21. The fuel 5 to be burned on the screen 4 uses a briquet with a plurality of holes 51 vertically which is produced by solidifying 85-95wt.% of charcoal powder with 15-5wt.% of an inorganic binder. An object to be boiled or roasted is placed between the fuels 5 on both side parts of the box 1 and combustion heating time is adjusted according to the number of the fuels 5. Thus, a convenient portable apparatus is made.
