Abstract:

To provide an apparatus and method for spatially predicting image data, encoding apparatus and method utilizing the same, apparatus and method for compensating for spatial prediction of image data, and decoding apparatus and method utilizing the same.

The spatial prediction apparatus for image data includes: a spatial prediction unit 140 performing a spatial prediction of pixel values of a current block using only blocks adjacent to an upper row of the current block, among adjacent blocks spatially adjacent to the current block. Thus, a pipeline process is possible when the spatial prediction is performed, thereby enabling real time encoding and decoding.
