Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for efficiently transmitting and receiving multicast data by radio.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for transmitting the multicast data by radio is provided with a stream generating part for generating a plurality of multicast streams corresponding to a prescribed data rate by dividing multicast data having a scalable data structure corresponding to a data rate receivable for a number of external receivers, an encoding processing part for respectively encoding the plurality of multicast streams, a header processing part for generating headers respectively corresponding to the encoded multicast streams and modulating them at the prescribed data rate, a stream modulating part for modulating a plurality of encoded multicast streams at a corresponding data rate, and a frame generating part for generating one or more transmission frames by adding the modulated headers to the modulated multicast streams.
