Title:
APPARATUS FOR MONITORING ELECTROMAGNET FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5410967
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
A monitoring device for powered vehicle braking system magnetic valve or other electromagnets. It is designed to detect partial electrical failures or mechanical damage causing failure of valve operating. The partial electrical failure may be shorted magnet coil and the mechanical failure may be due to corrosion esp. in seldom used system in Winter. The device measures variations in the coil current caused by movement of the armature. The instantaneous voltage proportional to he current is measured by a first circuit and temporarily stored in a second. A comparator compares the outputs of the first and second circuits and hence detects voltage and thus current variation.
