PURPOSE: To provide the apparatus for observing and photographing the endothelical cells of the cornea which has a good contrast and hardly photographs the nuclei of the cells.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus for photographing the endothelial cells of the cornea has an illuminating optical system 28 for irradiating the cornea C of the eye E to be examined from diagonal with the respective illuminating light rays from an illuminating light source 30 for observation and an illuminating light source 32 for photographing and an observing and photographing optical system 29 for observing and photographing the reflected light from the cornea C including the endothelial cells of the cornea by receiving the reflected light. The above-mentioned apparatus is constituted to receive only the reflected light from the endothelial cells of the cornea of a specific wavelength by arranging a filter unit 32' having wavelength selectivity in at least either of the illuminating optical system 28 and the observing and photographing optical system.
