Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize a high accuracy therapy by controlling an adjustment means based on the actual position of a spot of treatment obtained from processing at least two of the images observed and generated by sensors which observe the markings given to a prescribed position of the part to be treated. CONSTITUTION: In a case, for instance, of treating a brain tumor with a radiator 10 generating high-energy γ-secondary radiation beam 12, the first step is to give the accurate position of the tumor in the skull of a patient. Next, markings 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30 are given, which have positions reproducible and relating to the skull of the patient, and these markings 22 to 30 are observed by sensors 34 and 36, which are of video-camera-type and possible to generate picture signals. Then, calculating the actual position of a body part from observed marking positions, at the same time, the adjustment deviation is obtained by comparing this actual position with a targeted position. Then, operational signals are generated based on this adjustment deviation to adjust the rotating position of the irradiator, etc.
