This apparatus 1 for positioning and conveying the workpiece includes: a front table 3, a carriage 5 which is moved in the direction in which approach to and separation from the front table 3 are performed; a mechanism 7 for holding the positioning of the workpiece which is provided to hold the positioning of the workpiece W to the carriage 5; a detecting means 9 for detecting the occurrence of the positional deviation of the workpiece W to the carriage 5 which is held by the mechanism 7 for holding the positioning of the workpiece W; and a control means for controlling so that the repositioning of the workpiece W to the carriage 5 is performed and, after that, the carriage 5 is moved when the positional deviation of the workpiece is detected.
