PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for pressure-welding and cooling ears of a container which can securely press ears to right and left faces of the container for welding even if the container itself is large.

CONSTITUTION: A transfer means for transferring a container in a standing state along a transfer line L, sprockets 39, 41 respectively provided on an upstream and a downstream on both sides of the line L, and a first half route 33A hooked on the upstream and downstream sprockets 39, 41 on both sides of the transfer line L and exhibited to the line L are provided. Further a chain 33 constituting a return route 33B distant from the transfer line L, a motor for rotating the downstream sprocket 41, a pressure-welding member 35 attached to the chain 33 wherein the member 35 can be in contact with ear portions folded and adhered on right and left faces 15 of the container and its tip is positioned inside the right and left faces of the container, and an air cylinder 37 for rocking the upstream sprocket 39 are provided.
