Abstract:
In a device for protecting (part of) a structure installed in the sea e.g. an oil rig or oil drilling platform, a thin film of an anti-corrosive fluid is maintained in contact with a structural component. The device is a layer of flexible material, suitably a polymer-, e.g. polychloroprene-, coated fabric fitted about the part to be protected with the aid of a water-tight fastener e.G. a water-proof slide fastener. The anti-corrosive agent is permanently held in contact with the parts to be protected, as risk of dilution is efficiently minimised thus reducing need of repeated and continuous renewal.
