Title:
APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING OVER-COOLING OF ENGINE USED FOR DRIVING VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6036716
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent over-heating of an engine in winter, by controlling cooling air in a desired manner by providing an air-flow controlling guide member between a cooling fan and the engine body in the manner that it is capable of allowing or stopping supply of cooling air. CONSTITUTION:An air-flow detector 20 is disposed between a cooling fan 14 and an engine body 19 to serve as an air-flow controlling guide member. One end of the deflector 20 is fitted to a radiator shroud panel 21 in a freely detachable manner and the deflector 20 is designed to be capable of supplying cooling air to the space formed between the cooling fan 14 and the engine body 19 and stopping supply of cooling air to said space selectively. Thus, since cooling air is controlled at the back of a radiator 13, the function of the radiator 13 itself is not affected substantially even if a vehicle is driven in summer with the above deflector 20 being set in place. Therefore, deficiency of the cooling capacity is not caused.
