PURPOSE: To avoid entanglement of mutual extended tips of weft yarns and always carry out excellent picking by respectively providing the vicinities of jetting ports of respective picking main nozzles with blowing nozzles having respective jetting region crossing only the respective jetting regions of the above- mentioned main nozzles for preventing entanglement.

CONSTITUTION: The vicinities of respective jetting ports (2a) and (3a) of picking main nozzles 2 and 3 selectively operable according to a weft yarn selection pattern are respectively provided with blowing nozzles 8 and 9 having respective jetting regions crossing only the respective jetting regions of the above- mentioned main nozzles for preventing entanglement of weft yarns. Furthermore, jetting of the aforementioned blowing nozzle 8 is started before starting jetting of either 3 of the main nozzles and jetting is stopped before starting the jetting of the other main nozzle 2. The jetting timing of the other blowing nozzle 9 is constructed to be opposite to the aforementioned timing. Thereby, at least either of extended tips (Y'1) and (Y'2) of both weft yarns (Y1) and (Y2) is blown away in the direction completely deviated from the other main nozzle jetting region.
