Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform proofing based on prescribed image quality information by providing an image processor for preparing a proof page, showing the current values of plural image processing functions for the image to be printed. CONSTITUTION: When a proof concerning a specified page is started, options concerning the print of image quality IQ are applied through a user interface UI 52, together with the proof and any desired option is selected. When the selection is the print of IQ setting, IQ setting related to the specified page is retrieved from the memory of system control 54. A system performs the transformation and rasterization of IQ setting to character strings and a raster output scanner ROS 87 generates a readable text block. Next, when performing the print of IQ setting to a proof image, a page image(PI) to be printed is retrieved from the memory. The system overlaps a text block raster on the PI, the PI generated as a result is stored in the memory, and the PI provided with both the image and the IQ setting is outputted to a printer section 8.
