To provide an apparatus for producing foamed materials equipped with a raw material transporting device which consumes thermal energy to a lesser extent, lessens the occurrence of deformation and cracking, is long in life and has a good release property.
This apparatus for producing the foamed materials includes a heating furnace 1 which heats and foams waste glass raw materials and the raw material transporting conveyor device 5 which carries the waste glass raw materials added with a foaming agent continuously into this heating furnace 1 and takes the materials out of the furnace. The raw material transporting conveyor device 5 is provided with a head pulley 6 and tail pulley 7 which are respectively arranged at a raw material supply section 3 and a foamed material discharge section 4, a dense metallic mesh belt 8 which is wound and extended between these pulleys 6 and 7 and is bendable in a longitudinal direction and a fall preventive guard which is bent at both edges at the metallic mesh belt 8 and prevents the fall of the waste glass raw materials.
