To provide an apparatus for producing frozen dessert designed so that an additive can be easily mixed with a mix even when charging the additive such as syrup into a hopper to use.
The apparatus for producing frozen dessert comprises a hopper 2 storing the mix in a cold condition, a cooling cylinder 8 cooling the mix while stirring it to produce frozen dessert, and a cooling device cooling the hopper and the cooling cylinder. The apparatus is provided with an impeller 5 for stirring the mix in the hopper 2 to rotate the impeller 5 while the hopper is cooled by the cooling device, and has a switch for instructing a control device to rotate the impeller. The control device rotates the impeller 5 when receiving the instruction via the switch, without relation to whether the hopper 2 is cooled or not by the cooling device.
