To provide an apparatus capable of eliminating rice bran efficiently and preserving the flavor of rice with gloss for a long period of time, by polishing rice without using water.

A conveyer plate for polishing rice 1 is composed of metal plates 2 and concave parts 3 with net wire parts 4, of which respective cross sections are semicircular and which are perpendicularly located in longitudinal ways of the metal plates 2 at fixed intervals, and polishing rolls 9 of which surfaces are made of elastic materials are so equipped on the concave parts that lower parts of the polishing rolls 9 can be flexibly slid. The respective polishing rolls connected to a motor are so supported on the conveyer plate for polishing rice 1 that they can be freely rotated and the conveyer plate for polishing is so supported on a tilted guide rail that it can be freely moved in forward and backward directions by a slider-crank mechanism.
