Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for production capable of shortening and lowering the time and process temp. in a condensation stage and improving the optical characteristics of a produced optical fiber preform in production of the optical fiber preform and the process therefor.
SOLUTION: The heating means of the apparatus for producing the optical fiber preform including the heating means 22, 33 for heating a substrate tube 5 rotating while moving in a prescribed progression direction and while swiveling the tube in the stage for producing the optical fiber preform by a corrected chemical vapor deposition method have the first heating means 32 which exists forward in the progression direction and heats the substrate tube with a dispersion type frame having a relatively low frame pressure and the second heating means 32 which exists backward of the progression direction as compared with the first heating means and heats the substrate tube with a concentration type frame having a relatively high frame pressure.
