PURPOSE: To necessitate no replenishment of water and to attain high collecting effect, by connecting a water jet nozzle and a compressed air inflow pipe to an exhaust gas inflow chamber divided into two sections.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas from an engine 15 is flowed into an inflow port 9 through an exhaust gas removing apparatus 17 and flowed toward a tangential direction in an exhaust gas inflow chamber 4 to generate an eddy stream and permeated through a filter 3 over the entire surface thereof to be flowed out into an outflow chamber 5. By a differential pressure detector interposed between the chamber 4 and the chamber 5, clogging is detected and a water supply pipe is connected to a washing water jet nozzle 11 when the engine is stopped while a compressed air supply pipe is connected to a compressed air inflow pipe 13 to open a valve 12 and water is sprayed from the nozzle to form a water layer on the surface of the filter 3. As the result, compressed air is flowed into the chamber 4 from a valve 14 and passed through the filter 3 along with water to be discharged from an outlet 10 through the chamber 5 and an outflow pipe 8.
